Vintage Tutsi Basket - Rwanda - with Cowrie shells - 106.12 Excavation Timeless and Durable: Built toA vintage Tutsi basket, hand woven by the Tutsi people of Rwanda and finished with natural cowrie shells. More than just storage, these are functional works of art, each one carrying the character, slight imperfections and rich patina that only age can bring. Traditionally hand coiled from locally sourced sisal, raffia and sweetgrass, dyed with organic pigments to achieve their earthy, muted tones, with cowrie shells worked into the design. The
